Greek philosopher Heraclitus famously said, “The only thing that is constant is change.” Prahnee Harvie, a recruitment and mobilisation coordinator at Australia-based natural gas project CB&I Kentz Joint Venture, has found this is particularly true in STEM workplaces.
Prahnee did a Master of Human Resource Management at Edith Cowan University, where she gained hands-on experience in industry and learned how to apply people management skills to real-life problems.
Industry experience equips students with the skills needed to thrive in fast-paced work environments. The ECU Masters program offers industry placements with leading companies like the Commonwealth Bank – ranked third in the 2016 GradAustralia Top 100 Graduate Employers survey.
Prahnee’s current responsibilities range from recruiting staff for the Gorgon Project on Barrow Island, through to the mobilisation and ongoing support for these employees. Prahnee dreams of working in Canada and making a genuine impact as a human resources director.
